As an adult student, Terrie has been an advocate for my singing, a teacher for my music education and coach for my vocal training. When I first began I wasn’t sure of myself and whether I could regain the voice strength or confidence I once had. Terrie’s skill and experience in teaching adult voice, her willingness to give of her time and her sense of humor and joy for teaching voice makes her a wonderful coach. As a result I have regained my confidence and voice strength. You can take voice lessons from many people, but if you want to learn from someone who has the professional teaching skills and has a personal interest in you and cares about you, Terrie is your person.

Ms. Preskitt-Brown has definitely made a huge impact on my musical life and growth. Her vast knowledge of classical repertoire always ensured that she picked the perfect piece to challenge me without it being too difficult for my experience level and voice type. Her attention to detail and her constant positive, calm demeanor helped me feel both musically and mentally confident in my All-State auditions. She was also invaluable during the long, arduous college audition process, giving me continued feedback about not only my repertoire, but the overall experience of auditioning into a music degree program. Ms. Preskitt-Brown gave me both the inspiration to become a music major and the tools to make that goal a reality.

When our son, Christopher, (pictured) was cast as the lead in a production of Amahl and the Night Visitors, we knew immediately that our best resource to help him prepare for the role was Terrie Preskitt-Brown. She teaches her students to sing with such vocal freedom, clarity of diction, and expressiveness of tone. Her instruction is the perfect blend of encouragement and pedagogical genius, gleaned from her many years as an actively performing soprano soloist, highly regarded choral director, and experienced vocal instructor. I have also been fortunate to be one of her students during a time in which I was strengthening my vocal skill and confidence. Within the first lessons, I came to recognize why so many of her talented students have gone on to win top ratings at solo contests, principal chair in All-State choir, and admission into respected undergraduate music programs.
